I love this - it saves me loads of time
I was sceptical that using this hoe would be as easy as the maker claimed but it is a joy to use, zips through surface weeds and is very manoeverable.
I purchased this because we have a steep sloping rockery which is very difficult to keep weed free. The long handle reaches to the top and the small blade goes between the plants easily. Glad I found it.
Firstly it is very light and can be used with 1 hand if necessary ie when balancing on a slope. Goes right up to edging stones and close to plants - all the areas that I usually finish off by hand. It's quick and leaves the surface looking tended. I find my self looking for work, as it is such a pleasure to use. Used when the ground was damp.
The Burgon & Ball Weed Slice is a great garden tool. I have found it works best when the ground is fairly wet. It sliced through the weeds and then all you have to do is pick them up. Works especially well on small newly seeded weeds. It does not work well if the ground is very dry, especially when it's not been dug over, which is quite often as I am a lazy gardener.
Light and easy to use. Although the head is small is makes quick work of slicing through the weeds. Can also be used easily when kneeling down. Cuts on both forward and backward action.
