Planting: Plant as soon as possible and make sure the roots do not dry out. When planting, the base of the stems should be about 7.5cm below ground level. If immediate planting is not possible, keep the roses in the sealed bag or box in a cold, but frost-free place for no more than two weeks.
Soil Type: Roses will grow in a wide range of soils, though whatever type they are in, they do appreciate good soil preparation. Adding a generous quantity of well-rotted manure or garden compost before planting will help to ensure strong growth.
Planting Position: Plant in a location with at least a few hours of sun each day and where the roots of the rose will not be in competition with the roots of plants - especially trees and hedges.
